I find them highly suspicious as it sounds very familiar to what I've just experienced. However, I have done my own research and I can tell you that they are under the godaddy domain and that just confirms the high risk of fraud, identity theft involved. They are very persistent in harassing with calls. They have been reported to the Federal police. Be very careful with any IT websites. I can tell you from experience they are not legit.

SCAM - SCAM - SCAM - HANG UP!!!
I was phoned by a woman claiming to be from Microsoft at 5:15pm 11/08/17. She said that there were multiple problems with my computer. She passed me on to a technician because she knew how many "corrupt" files there were. The second man questioned me about who had been using the computer - me or anyone else also? Questions about what it had been used for - I answered that it had been used for Internet banking, email, Facebook and normal browsing. This man put me onto a third man "Jack Watson" - a 'senior computer technician'. This man asked for remote access to my computer, so that he could "delete the corrupt files". I gave him access. Then he put some details on the screen, which spelled out which files would be deleted, and how much it would cost for him to provide this 'service.' He showed 'where the hackers had set up an "expiry date" so that I wouldn't have access to anything on my own computer after 7pm tomorrow (12/08/17) night. This created a sense of urgency. I was then convinced to give him my credit card details, including card number, type, expiry date, CCV number - and my date of birth. I agreed to pay the sum of $560 AUD to clean up my computer and to provide lifetime protection - I paid this (apparently) to a company named "Quotenix.com". I asked - wouldn't Norton-AntiVirus have picked this up? He said that Norton only deal with viruses, not trojans. I expressed discomfort in giving these details, and he went through it all again - talking husband through it too. He said he had 20 people 'working on deleting the files in the background' and would call me back in an hour. He gave me his phone number - 1800 043 051. I hung up. I discussed this with my husband for an hour and turned off the power to the computer. The same third man phoned back and at this stage, my husband answered the phone and told him to F*k Off. The caller then hung up.

They all had foreign sounding accents, like indian or pakistani or something. They seemed very convincing and I believe I got scammed by them into paying for a remedy for my laptop being hacked by hackers and to avoid any criminal activity being done by the hackers who were now operating with my software license. I wish I had not made payment and feel very naive and stupid for doing so. Be wary if called by this number.
