Although I have no debts, I received a suspicious text message from someone named MiltnGraham (which is not the same as the known debt collection service Milton Graham) stating, "Hi, please call 1300 398 546 immediately to discuss an important matter. Thank you, Milton Graham." This clearly seems dodgy!
Got a text today from "MiltnGraham" asking that I call 1300398546 about an important matter. I thought straight away scam so I looked Milton Graham up and found their phone numbers which are different to this scam phone number and also why would they spell their own name wrong, why would they even text me - hahaha.
If you receive a message from the number 1300 398 546, please ignore it and delete it immediately. This is a clear scam attempt, and I have no tolerance for such behavior!
I received a text from 0488 822 474 asking me to call 1300 082 441 immediately to discuss an important matter and to quote a specific number when I call Dun and Bradstreet. The only thing I think it could be is from the scammers Telebyte who scammed me earlier this year. They have sent me a bill for $450 which I returned to them. Have never used their service, but paid the price of them disconnecting me from Telstra - without my authority. I will NOT be calling Dun and Bradstreet.
Had a text saying 'they' have been trying to call me regarding an important matter. Gave a reference number and said they were Dun & Bradstreet. However, it was texted from 0416907428, which is just someone's mobile. Also no one has ever tried to contact me, and I have no outstanding debts. This sort of thing would never be texted! The whole thing screams SCAM, don't call or give any personal info.
My text reads:
Hi, we have been trying to contact you to discuss an important matter. Please call Dun & Bradstreet on 1300398546 quoting ******* immediately.
But I've received no calls, No emails, No letters, no nothing.
I've sent an email to the D&B email that I found on their website to hopefully gain some more information. I'm reluctant to call!
I've also received the same as above asking to call the 1300 no re an important matter with a quote no. The number was texted from 0416907428 & signed by Dun & Bradstreet. Glad I did a quick Google search-dodgy as!!!!!
Had a call from this number saying the were from Dun & Bradstreet debt collectors. Saying I owed $5000 and had to pay them before there was legal action.
Sounded convincing apart from the Indian accent.
Got a text from this number to call inmediately to discuss a urgent matter. Included a case number and signed off 'Dun & Bradstreet'. Company looks legit when I did a quick Google search but no debt collector would text! Letters and a phone calls at first but not just straight to text. Glad I did a search on the phone number. Always good to have your suspisions confirmed.
I got a text asking to call the number. I called and they immediately asked for my personal details (full name, date of birth, address). I was reluctant to answer and asked them what it was in regard to? They refused to tell me unless I gave them the details. I then gave them my date of birth and asked them for details of the matter. They said it was a Centrelink matter and that I needed to pay an amount of money into a bank account that they would text to me. I asked them for something in writing, and they then had to get my address for this. I was not happy, but wanted something in writing. They told me I would receive a text immediately, regarding where to pay the money, and also that I would receive a letter in the mail confirming who they were. That was a week ago, and still waiting for both??? Be careful!!!!
I HAD A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER STATING I OWED A DEBT OF $105.00 TO SOCIAL SECURITY FROM 20 YEARS AGO. CALLER GOT QUITE RUDE WHEN I WOULDNT GIVE MY CREDIT CARD DETAILS. I REQUESTED THEY SEND ME A BILL. THE PERSON TOLD ME HE WAS FROM DUN AND BRADSTREET.
Just received text from 0416907428 asking to 'Please call 1300 398546 immediately to discuss an important matter.' I have a reference number too. Company looks legit but after reading these posts I don't think I will be ringing any of those numbers!
Got a call this morning asking to call back. The operator is from overseas with strong accent. Asking me my details so I hang up.
Got a message from this number, ask me to call them back immediately to discuss an important matter. But they didn't have my information, and they didn't give me a reason.
Sorry about the typos.
If it's for centerlink is the worst possible way to collect overpayment. Like and sounds like a scam but isn't. If yoy get someone when yoy call back yoy have to verify your details. That's not something we are told to do. And they won't tell you what they are calling about at all out for what department. The government needs to look at how they do things in this scammers world.
Update: it's a legit phone number. Dun & Bradstreet collecting overpayments from Centrelink :(.
I just got a text saying same thing. Says from Dun & Bradstreet. Looks like a scam. I'm not calling back.
I got a text from 1300398546 this morning as below, it looks like a kind of scam. Be careful.
Hi, please call 1300398546 immediately to discuss an important matter. Quote 4551012 when you call. Thank you, Dun & Bradstreet.
They just send a message saying its argent to call them back. This is what they sent to my phone...
Hi, please call 1300398546 immediately to discuss an important matter. Quote 3354417 when you call. Thank you, Dun & Bradstreet.
Keeps calling, has automated message but doesn't leave any name or why they have called. Wants you to call them back.
