I found this site, arlcollect.com.au, and they list the proper number as 1300 665 274. Seems like they’ve got their act together!
Got a call from that number. Left a message to call back which I did not. Scammers.
Scam claiming to be from ARL on behalf of pay pal using 0393200118 as well as his one and several other mobile s.
Scam claiming to be from ARL on behalf of pay pal using 0393200118 as well as his one and several other mobile s.
These scammers are still operating. I received a physical letter from a supposed "Paypal collections" using this number. It's important to note that Paypal doesn’t issue loans outside of their Pay-in-4 service. I'm reaching out to the actual ARL company (1300 665 274) to report that scammers are impersonating them, and I will be filing a report with the police regarding this fraudulent invoice. Additionally, the "top comment" about this report appears to be from the scammers themselves.
The caller always uses a different mobile number each time they contact me. I'm using a data-only SIM in my tablet and have never used it for calls or owe any money on PayPal, making these calls seem definitely like scams to me.
I received several voicemails in the early morning from this number. An Australian voice asked me to call back. I checked my PayPal and credit card accounts, and everything seems fine. After searching for the number online, I found threads reporting similar concerns, so I plan to take no further action.
I received a text message that purported to be from a legitimate company called ARCollect; however, the number used does not match theirs. The message claimed I had a debt with PayPal, which I found suspicious, as I have no such outstanding debts. I have since enhanced the security on my PayPal account, and I can confirm that 1300 303 849 is a scam.
This is definitely a scam. I've noticed that the scammers are trying to make their operation appear legitimate by posting comments, which is quite laughable.
I received a scam call claiming that I owe money to PayPal. The contact number they provided, 1300 303 849, does not match the official contact number listed on the PayPal website.
I received mail from a collections agency claiming that PayPal has attempted to contact me multiple times regarding an overdue account. I immediately recognized this as a scam because I do not have a PayPal account; I prefer to handle my transactions the old-fashioned way. They also sent the mail out a week in advance of the due date, which is suspicious given delivery times.
I received a letter claiming that I owe money to PayPal, but I don't even have a PayPal account. This seems extremely suspicious! The person I spoke to sounded unprofessional, almost as if they were in a restroom.
This number is an absolute scam! I strongly recommend ignoring any calls or messages from them, especially since I rarely use PayPal.
I received a text message from this number claiming that I have debts associated with my PayPal account. After contacting PayPal, I learned that my account is in good standing, and they advised me that it might be a case of someone stealing my identity to open a fraudulent PayPal account. I have reported this incident to PayPal and provided them with the account information from this scammer, which is currently under investigation. Additionally, I have filed a report with the police regarding this matter.
This is a legitimate company related to my finances. Someone misused my information to create a debt through Paypal, indicating possible identity theft if you see a similar situation.
I received a text message that was very similar to others reported in this thread. It claimed that there was an issue with my PayPal account. I checked my PayPal account and everything appeared to be fine. I responded by telling them to stop contacting me. This is definitely a scam.
I received a call from this number claiming that I have a debt with PayPal. After logging into my PayPal account, I confirmed that there is no debt associated with my account. This is clearly a scam!
This number is associated with a scam. The caller claims to be from PayPal, but I believe it has nothing to do with them. It’s crucial not to share any personal or private information with anyone calling from this number.
I received a message stating that I had a reference number, but after checking it on the ARL website, I found it was not their number at all. This is clearly a scam, and when I contacted the actual ARL via chat, they confirmed it was fraudulent. Save yourselves the trouble and disregard it. The official ARL number is 1300 665 274.
I received a message asking me to contact ARL at 1300 303 849 or to reply with "CALLME," referencing an issue supposedly related to PayPal Australia Pty Ltd. I checked both of my PayPal accounts and found that my balances are fine and there are no notifications in my Message Centre. I find it hard to believe that I would hear from ARL first about a supposed issue rather than directly from PayPal.
I received a text message from the number 0407 254 327 saying, "Please contact ARL on 1300 303 849 or reply CALLME (quote ref #) regarding a matter received from PayPal Australia Pty Ltd." When I attempted to call the 1300 number, it only produced a busy signal. This makes me suspect that it may be a scam.
I received a suspicious message and called PayPal for verification. They confirmed that my account was safe and warned me that the message was a scam. They advised me to ignore such texts in the future.
I received the same message as many others, stating that I have a debt with PayPal, even though I do not have a PayPal account. This is a definite scam aimed at phishing for personal information.
I received a scam message prompting me not to respond or pick up any calls from this number. After checking with the ACC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission), I can confirm it's a scam. Always verify your PayPal account first and disregard any scam text messages you may receive.
There seems to be a lot of skepticism regarding this caller. However, it is important to clarify that this is a legitimate debt collection agency that works with several major companies. Although their call center operates offshore, it is not a scam. Those who think it is may be mistaken about their financial situation and logic.
