I received a call from someone with an African accent who claimed to be an agent of justice. When I jokingly referred to him as 'James Bond 007', he immediately hung up on me.
I received a call from this South Australian number while I’m in Victoria, but I chose not to answer it.
SCAM and reported on my phone as SPAM.
Scam.
I noticed a missed call from this number on my mobile phone. There was no voicemail left, but after reading reports on Reverse AU, I've decided to block this number.
The caller left a voicemail that included my name and a greeting, but they abruptly hung up after saying "hello" multiple times without providing any meaningful information. The caller had an English-sounding accent, leading me to believe it was a scam. I've since blocked and deleted the number.
I answered this call because it displayed a number from the Guilderton area, where I have a client. However, there was no response from the caller. When I tried to return the call, I received a message stating that the number is "not in service," so I have since blocked the number.
During the call, the person mistakenly revealed that they had purchased my phone number. When I mentioned that my number is on the Do Not Call register, they admitted they didn't care since they were calling using a VPN from London, which made them untraceable. After I called them scammers, they asked for proof, so I reiterated that my number was associated with reported scams. They then hung up.
I did not answer the call from this number, as I suspect it could be spam. I am blocking this number now.
This call is most likely a scam. When I returned the call, I was greeted with a message stating that the number is not in service, which raises suspicion.
I didn't recognize the calling number, so I chose not to answer it. Then, when I tried to call back, I was informed that the number did not exist. This added to my suspicions about it being a scam.
Spam caller.
Had a msssed call from +61 8 9551 6809 which showed up as 'Suspected Spam. An automated voice machine with an american accent said "The number you have dialed is not in service. Please check the number and dial again"
An unsolicited call-centre sales pitch claiming to be from a company called PLUS700. She was pushy, insisted I had registered or signed up for information. I hadn’t. When I politely made that clear the woman continued on with tactics to attempt to keep me engaged and on the phone. Sounded like an outsourced sales lead company. I re-iterated, offered a ‘thank you for calling and have a nice day’ and she still kept at it. I kept listening out of sheer morbid curiosity only to have the call cut from her end mid her sentence. Just as she was getting sassy too. Scam? Don’t know. Unscrupulous sales tactics? Defo. Not sure whether it was associated with the actual company PLUS700 (which I looked up) but if it was I’m 100% less interested in them now that I was before having never heard of them. Congrats PLUS700. Now I know who you are - pushy dodgy spammy shysters.
