A pop-up appeared on my parents' computer claiming that their software is pirated and instructed them to call this number. This is clearly a scam trying to trick users.

This number is listed on a message disabling my computer, clearly a scammer/nasty Do Not call this number, Telstra need to intervene here?
The callers pretended to be from a Windows Security support helpline, claiming that my computer has been compromised. I'm very dubious about this claim and suspect it's a scam.

This phone number popped up on my computer screen after I clicked on a random article online, my screen was blocked I could not do anything about it. When I called the number provided, an Indian accent person said he was from Microsoft and located in Timesquare. I hang up, didn't want to waste my time with them.
