This number called me, but I don't recognize it, and they didn't leave a voicemail message, making me unsure of their intentions.
Just called pretending to be from Telstra technical department wanting me to open my internet browser to check if password ia secure. Said my internet has neen changed from pŕivate to publuc and that they want to make sure it is secure for me. I asked for the phone number that Telstra has for my internet and they gave my mobike number missing the 0 so I asked if they were calling from outside australia and she said yes. Indian accent. My phone is nit with Telstra so scammers!
Pretended to be from Telstra and asked for bank details and personal information. Took control over my phone. Had to cancel all my accounts to stop them taking money out of my accounts.
I believe this call is a likely scam, as they did not leave any message when I did not answer.
The caller will claim that your IP address is public and attempt to persuade you to download an application from Google Play. It is advisable to hang up and contact your phone provider for verification if needed.
A person named Jacob called, claiming to be from Telstra and stating that my IP address had been compromised. However, I don’t have a Telstra account, indicating this is a scam.
I answered the call, but the caller immediately hung up without saying anything.
