Called from this number claiming to be Dun and Bradstreet collecting a debt on behalf of Synergy. They had my thorough details but asked me to confirm. Doh, I confirmed. I called Synergy, although they use Dun and Bradstreet to collect debts, I have no outstanding payments. I also got a letter from them that looked legitimate. Now I am concerned.

Legit

Identified caller. It is DandB which stands for Dunn and Bradstreet. A debt collection agent and if you don't respond they will report your details to the CRA(credit reference ass/agency).

And there goes your credit rating which can affect your future borrowing for 3 or 5 years.
