I received a phone call from 08-79247133 when I was in a crowded Opp shop with a lot of background noise. I had never had a mobile phone before was and I didn't know whether it was legit or not, but the caller had a foreign accent (possibly Indian) and he was still talking when I told him it was too noisy to hear what he was saying (which was true) and hung up.

Spam call. Seemingly using voice over internet software - usually they are calling numbers based on a random number generator - likely looking for active lines to sell to telemarketers. There is no caller on the other end if you answer and call back fails.

The caller claimed to be from Telstra and wanted to discuss my internet connection. I informed him that I do not use Telstra and was busy. As I was trying to hang up, he insisted, "Listen to me please, Ma'am." I had to firmly decline due to my work commitments. The caller then raised his voice and repeated his insistence, which prompted me to hang up the phone.
