I believe this was a scam call. I was redirected to the number 0425 750 301 when I attempted to follow up, but there was no response on the line.
Recorded message from "VISA" reporting unauthorised purchase of gift cards.
Typical Scam.
I received a recorded message from someone claiming to be from "VISA," stating that there was an unauthorized purchase made with gift cards. This is a typical scam attempt—please ignore and do not engage with this call.
The caller claimed to be from a technical support team and stated that there was an issue with my internet service and that my online activities were visible to the public. When I requested for them to follow up by sending me an email, they abruptly hung up. The caller ID showed the number was from Two Wells, South Australia.
I received a call with a robotic voice stating that they were from Visa. The recorded message mentioned a fraudulent charge of $199, with options to press 1 to cancel or 2 to approve the charge. When I pressed 2 twice, hoping to engage, a male operator answered, and I told him to proceed with approval. Instead of continuing the conversation, I was abruptly hung up on, indicating that this is a misleading attempt to scam me.
Community reports are retained as historical safety signals within the Reverseau telecommunications safety dataset and may reflect different experiences over time.
