So, I got this call claiming to be from Optus. Sounds fishy since they often just poach customers to bump their sales stats. Not sure if it's a scam, but definitely unsolicited marketing that's not cool.
You best believe this call got screened and chucked straight into the spam bin! No time for those jokers!
I got a call from 08 7323 2318, claiming from Optus. The guy had Indian accent, he knew my name and asked my post code. He sent me an OTP and asked to give him the number. I hung up after that.
I received a call from this number today at 2:05 PM. I answered but remained silent and muted. There was complete silence on the line for about 30 seconds before I decided to hang up.
This is definitely a scam caller.
After I answered there was a long delay before talking (red flag 1). Indian voice (red flag 2) said was from Optus and wanted to discuss my plan as I was not using all of the data. Wanted me to confirm personal details (surname and postcode) (red flag 3), then wanted the code text to me (red flag 4). I said I wasn't sharing any codes and told him I was not interested. He still continued charade that as a long-standing customer that I could get a better deal. I asked what the plans were but he couldn't tell me more until I gave him the code (red flag 5). I terminated the call. Definitely a scam caller.
This call appears to be from Optus, attempting to persuade me to add more options to my phone plan.
My phone reported this number as a potential fraud attempt.
A woman called with significant background noise and attempted to gather personal information, including my date of birth and address. I felt uncomfortable and hung up, as it did not seem like a legitimate request. They already had my name and mobile number.
Yet another pointless call without anyone speaking on the other end. It seems like a waste of time for both the caller and myself.
I received a phone call from a man named Chandra claiming to be from Optus. He wanted to discuss my plan and whether I found it valuable. Afterward, I contacted Optus through their app, and they confirmed that this call was not legitimate. They mentioned it was a scam, as he had personal details about my account.
This caller wanted to discuss some unused options available on my Optus account. The person on the line sounded Indian, but I'm unsure of their legitimacy.
The caller mentioned wanting to discuss a change to my internet plan. However, the background noise indicated a busy office, and the caller refused to introduce themselves. When I asked for their identity, they abruptly hung up. This feels unprofessional and suspicious.
The caller introduced themselves and mentioned a company, but then hung up right away. They had an Indian accent, which added to my skepticism.
I appreciate the opportunity to share my experience in this forum. I'm getting daily calls but choose not to answer them. It's incredibly frustrating.
I received a call from someone claiming to be from Optus, who asked about switching my internet service to them. They had my phone number, address, and email associated with my profile, all without me providing any identification. This raises concerns about how they obtained my personal information. The caller offered to call back and did so from the number (02) 9174 3000.
This number sent me an audio message, which strongly resembled spam content — entirely untrustworthy.
The call started with a delay before the person on the other end finally spoke. They claimed to be from Optus, but the connection was poor and I could hardly hear them. This raised my suspicions about the legitimacy of the call.
The call seemed to be from either an internal source or a third-party sales representative related to Optus.
Answered the call but there was no response on the other end.
Hung up. Also recieving similar phone calls from private numbers in the same time frame.
On answering this call, I could hear office background noise before they hung up. I am 99% sure this is a scam.
When I answered this call, I heard background noise as if from an office, but then the caller hung up without saying anything.
Optus asking why I switched my service. May or may not have been Optus, I don't know.
