When I called the number back, a recorded message identified it as Aries Consultancy Services. The number appeared to be from Adelaide, and I have strong suspicions that this is a scam, so I blocked it.
I received an automated call featuring an American-accented voice saying that they have detected two fraud attempts on my Visa or debit card, supposedly linked to Netflix and Amazon. They asked me to press 1 for assistance. I recognize this as a fraud scam and have blocked the number.
The caller claimed to be making an emergency call from Optus. They spoke in English, but I also recognized some phrases in what I believe was Chinese.
I received a call from a female with an Indian accent, surrounded by background noise, claiming to represent Mastercard or Visa. She stated there was an unusual transaction on my card. When I asked for clarification and jokingly queried about the weather in Calcutta, she told me to “F@$k off.” Thanks to the scammer payback team for their efforts in tackling this.
Scam. Do not pick up. Blocked now.
I received a call regarding a transaction supposedly made with my Visa card. When I asked the caller about the bank associated with the transaction, he mentioned the "South Australia Bank," but I do not hold any account with such a bank. I quizzed him on how many people he scams each day, and he abruptly hung up. It's concerning that on the Australian telephone network, we struggle to identify and stop the individuals behind these deceptive calls.
I received two missed calls from this number, but they did not leave a voicemail. When I tried to call back, the call would not connect.
The caller mentioned something about a money transaction from Western Union and left a voice mail message regarding this.
Scam call. Has called others many times. Waste of space.
I have received two calls from this number today, and both times the caller hung up before I even had a chance to say hello.
