I answered a call from this number, and it was an emergency notification from Telstra. The message was spoken by a woman in an Asian language, which I found confusing.
I received a call this morning from someone claiming to be from Visa, warning me about a hold on two suspicious transactions: one being an Amazon Prime charge and another for $700.00 to someone in China. I hung up and decided to call Visa directly for verification, who confirmed that there were no such transactions under my account.
I received a call from a female voiced automated system that was attempting to discuss a banking transaction that doesn't exist. This definitely sounds like a scam, and I would advise caution.
I received a recorded message that claimed to be from Visa and Mastercard, stating I was owed money. However, I don’t even hold accounts with either card, which makes this call highly suspect.
I received a concerning call that claimed to be from Visa/Mastercard, but I decided to hang up before any further information was provided. I suspect it's a scam.
A few seconds after answering, I was greeted by a recorded message in a US accent saying, "This is a concerned call from Visa/Mastercard." This is the third such call I've received and subsequently blocked this year.
I answered and said nothing it hung up after a couple of seconds. Scammy AF.
A female recorded voice from the number claimed to be from Visa Australia, notifying me about two transactions: an international transfer of $14 and an Amazon purchase of $495. It instructed me to press 1 if I authorized these transactions and press 2 if I did not, which I followed by hanging up. I've reported this incident to Scam Watch as well.
I didn't answer the call and later listened to the voicemail. It was a robotic voice claiming we had a refund from Amazon, which is strange since we don’t use Amazon. I decided to block the number. My advice: avoid answering calls from unknown numbers and listen to voicemails carefully to assess if they might be a scam.
After searching for this number and finding many negative comments, I clearly see it’s a potentially fraudulent call. When dealing with unknown callers, it's wise to say "hello" without revealing your name or any personal information. Disconnect if it seems suspicious; malicious callers can employ tactics to compromise smartphones if given enough time. I recommend using a robust mobile antivirus, like Bitdefender, for security.
No message left by caller.
Telstra did send a message.
Spam detected.
So the number is now blocked.
Scam!! Annoying.
I received a call from this number claiming to be an eBay contact. The message offered a supposed $299 refund and instructed me to press 1 for further action, using a robotic female voice. The caller ID displayed an Adelaide, SA number. I strongly recommend not answering this call and blocking the number.
Received 7/2/24 concern call regarding visa and Mastercard. SCAM and annoying.
I received a recorded message supposedly from Visa and Mastercard. Since it was an automated recording, I hung up and subsequently blocked the number to avoid future calls.
