I received a call from this number, but my phone blocked it. They left a voicemail that started with robotic English instructions to press '2' before switching to a voice speaking in Chinese. This is suspicious and concerning.
I never answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. This call claimed to be from Adelaide, but I do not know anyone in that area.
It seems that scammers are using a cloned phone number from Adelaide to make their calls.
I received a call from this number, but I didn't answer it. I am concerned about how scammers are able to access Australian phone numbers. I believe the government should restrict access to these numbers or investigate who is requesting them to prevent scams.
Just like other reports, this call involved a pitch about visa security. I ended the call immediately when I heard the term "visa security," as it felt like a scam.
I received a call from someone claiming to be from Visa and Mastercard, questioning my $700 transfer to China and a $14.99 payment to Amazon on my Visa card. The person had a heavy Indian accent, making it difficult to understand them. I told them I would contact my bank directly. This seemed to upset them. I didn't have the heart to explain that I don't actually own a Visa card! 😂😂
I got a call from this number featuring a recorded message that mimics previous scams. The call claimed they were from the security department of Visa and Mastercard, stating there was a $14.99 payment to Amazon and a $700 transfer to the US via Western Union. They instructed me to press 1 if I made those payments or 2 for more information. I pressed 1 briefly but then hung up out of concern.
I received a recorded call from what was claimed to be the Visa and MasterCard security center discussing a recent purchase I supposedly made. This is clearly an attempt by scammers.
I received a call from this number stating they were part of the security department for Visa and Mastercard. They mentioned a fraudulent payment of $14.99 to Amazon and a suspicious $700 transfer to the US through Western Union. The caller prompted me to press '1' for more information. I recognized this as a scam and did not engage further.
Scam call. Recorded message asking me to verify a charge made.
I received a call that started with a recorded message asking if I placed an order. After pressing 1 to indicate 'no,' I was transferred to a representative at an Indian call center who claimed my eBay account had been compromised and an order for $290 had been placed. I told them that I did not place such an order, and they attempted to guide me on how to secure my account. I declined further conversation and ended the call. Definitely suspected as a scam!
Scam caller, has called my number and my partners number several times. Scam is targeting ANZ customers, advising there has been credit card fraud on their card.
Do not answer and do not press any keyboard numbers requested. Call ANZ on their customer service number if you do suspect card fraud.
This number called me but didn't leave a message. After checking on Reverse AU, I found no additional information about it, which makes me suspicious.
I attempted to call back the number, but I received a message saying, "We regret that we are unable to connect this call, please try again later." Although it seemed like it might be a telecommunications issue, they did not provide a company name, leading me to suggest avoiding answering future calls from this number; they might try again if it is a legitimate call.
