Paid a deposit to a legitimate company to install an air-conditioning system last week. Received a call from this number today asking me to call back and book the installation of the A/C system. Voice was anglo-Australian and sounded legitimate-probably an AI generated recording. Number looked suspicious and Google search confirmed it was a scam call so blocked the number.
Scammer. Long pause and then started pretending to be National Broadband Network.
This number is associated with an NBN scam. Please be vigilant and do not share any personal details.
This is a SCAM! The caller pretended to be from PayPal. My advice is to hang up immediately, block the number, and avoid engaging with them. Do not press any buttons or share any personal information.
Be cautious with these callers; I believe they are trying to capture your voice for use with AI technology in ways that could be harmful or malicious.
This is a scam call that pretended to be from my bank. The call was short-lived, as they hung up quickly.
This call went straight to voicemail, where I received a message in Mandarin regarding a health department issue. Despite blocking the number, the messages still seem to come through. I suspect that this might be a scam as indicated by similar reports.
The caller claimed to be from Commonwealth Bank discussing recent account withdrawals. After I informed her that I don’t have an account with them, she laughed and hung up, which confirmed my suspicions about her intentions.
I spoke with someone who had broken English and was speaking Chinese, claiming to be from the health department. They asked why I hadn’t answered their calls earlier in the week. I felt uncomfortable and hung up.
The caller claimed to be from the Commonwealth Bank, saying that my card had been used. Upon hearing the background noise of a scam call center, I quickly hung up. It's infuriating that I keep receiving these calls, and I wonder why the government isn't taking action against them.
The caller claimed I had $1400 being deducted from my bank account for gift cards, which is absurd since I don't even have that much in my account. They mentioned Los Angeles, but I'm in Australia, confirming it’s a scam.
I missed a call from an unknown number and, shortly after, received another call from (02) 9189 7935. Just before that, I received a call from 0422 183 207. Both numbers appear to have no reputation, leading me to believe they may be interconnected and part of a scam.
I picked up the phone and, instead of greeting the caller, I just listened quietly to identify who was calling. To my surprise, they hung up without saying a single word. This behavior seems very suspicious and strongly suggests it may be a scam!
The caller claimed to be from CBA (Commonwealth Bank of Australia) and asked if I authorized a payment of $800 to someone named Smith in the USA. I was confused, and after several unclear exchanges, I realized it was a scam and hung up; I suspect they were calling from India.
When you get a call from a number you don’t know don’t say anything and they will hang up after 3 or 4 seconds because it’s an auto dialer.
If it was for you they would say something.
Unsolicited call with a recorded message purporting to be from Amazon Prime Services. Advises that auto renewal will take $99 from my account. If you wish to cancel or speak with a specialist press 1.
SCAM CALL SCAM CALL. SCAM CALL. SCAM CALL. SCAM CALL.
A scammer contacted me, pretending there was an $800 suspicious transaction from my bank account. She claimed to be from 'Bank Fraud.' When I asked which bank I was with, she said she couldn't disclose that information over the phone, clearly indicating that this was a scam.
I have received multiple calls from this number, and the caller claims to be from Telstra. Every time I block the number, they call me from a different number. When I don't answer, they do not leave a message. This behavior is quite concerning.
I received a missed call from this number, and no message was left. If it was something important, I believe they would have taken the time to leave one.
The caller stated my account is about to expire and suggested I press 1 to cancel my direct debit. When I pressed 1, I was connected to an Indian call center. When I questioned their legitimacy, they began to insult me. Please be wary of this potential scam.
Pretending to be from Telstra - scammer.
