This was a clear scam call! The caller pretended to be from my credit card's security department, claiming that there had been a suspicious transaction on my card during the early hours. When I informed them that I work for my bank and would escalate the matter to our cybercrime division, they hung up immediately. It was satisfying to outsmart a scammer!
Said they were some sort of security company - scam.
I received a call from a number that appears to be from Adelaide, South Australia. Since I don't know anyone from that area, I chose not to answer. Given similar comments from others, it seems my intuition about this call was correct.
I got a call on my mobile phone from this number. When I called back using a landline, I received a message saying, "The number you have dialed is not answering," indicating the number may not be legitimate.
When I answered this call, there was nothing but a dial tone on the other end. It seems like a scam call.
I do not engage with unknown numbers. If they can't leave a message, they are clearly scammers in my opinion, so I have blocked yet another one. 🤬🤬
This number called claiming that $1,200 was about to be deducted from my PayPal account, and then they suddenly mentioned a larger amount of $800. I suspect this is a scam.
The call seemed suspicious as the caller left a voicemail filled with just beeping sounds, which is unusual and indicates a potential scam.
The caller claimed that someone was attempting to charge $800 to my credit card for gift cards. When I questioned them about which bank they were referring to, they couldn't provide an answer and hung up immediately. This is definitely a scam!
The caller claimed to be from NBN, stating that I had a slow internet connection in my street. He provided the correct street name when I asked. However, I don't mind a slower connection since I don’t engage in activities that require high speeds, so I ended the conversation politely.
This afternoon, I received a call where the caller claimed to be from both NBN and Telstra. I confronted them about their dishonesty and advised them to find legitimate employment, as I believed the caller was misrepresenting themselves.
Scammers called pretending to discuss my NBN service, but when I mentioned we did not have NBN, they suddenly switched their story to my mobile. When I pressed for more information, the woman inaccurately guessed she was calling from Vodafone and hung up when I clarified we were not their customer.
I have received multiple calls from this number over the past month. The callers first claimed to represent Telstra, then Visa, and finally Amazon. Their heavy accents and lack of knowledge revealed that they were scammers. I advise hanging up on them or blocking their number.
This number has been repeatedly calling my home, but when I answer, the caller remains silent and has only said "hello" once in an Indian accent. It's frustrating that this number has been circulating for over a year without any action taken against it; surely, it can be traced back and stopped.
The call feature an artificial voice informing me about an unusual charge on my account. I found it suspicious and decided to hang up without providing any information.
I received a call from this number with someone pretending to be from Telstra. They claimed my internet connection was slow (which I'm currently addressing with Telstra) and offered to fix it for free. When I mentioned I had a scheduled call with Telstra, they abruptly hung up.
I received two calls from this number at 4 AM, which leads me to believe it was a robocall. They likely hoped I would call back, but I refuse to engage. I've now blocked the number.
I received a call from this number, but they did not leave a message. When I attempted to call back, the number did not connect, suggesting it is likely a scam.
The caller left a message in Chinese. I have blocked the number due to unknown intentions.
This number called me today but did not leave any voicemail. The lack of a message makes it seem suspicious.
I cannot return the call because this is a confirmed scam caller.
I received a call on a Saturday afternoon from this number, but they did not leave any message. I suspect it is a scam and do not plan to engage with them.
Called few times then hangup when answered.
