I received a call from a person with an Indian accent claiming to be from CBA, saying there was a transaction made overseas that needed verification for cancellation. I decided to check my account details online instead and hung up.
The phone number's area code and exchange prefix suggest that the caller is located in Karratha, WA. This, combined with the nature of the call, raises suspicions that it could be a scam.
I received a call from someone claiming to be from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA). They stated there was a transaction made overseas that required verification in order to cancel it.
This number called I didn’t answer, never left a message or text message. Peel region.
Said nothing after I answered, stayed on the line for 30 seconds, I hung up. Shows as Karratha WA.
