I received a scam call claiming that my bank account had been hacked. They asked me for my bank's name, and the call originated from Cairns.
I received a call from a woman with an Indian accent who identified herself as "Shami" from Telstra. Unfortunately, she hung up immediately when she realized I was using an answering machine. Before hanging up, she asked someone nearby, "Is this a business?" This number has previously called me at (07) 4222 0758, and the voice was the same female Indian accent.
The caller claimed to be from Vodafone offering a good deal, but they also attempted to send a text requesting access to my account. I want to clarify that I do not have an account with Vodafone.
I received a call from a scammer with a foreign accent who was trying to obtain my personal details.
A male caller, who appeared to be of Asian or Indian descent, claimed to be from NBN and was addressing issues with my internet connection. When I asked if he was actually from Telstra, he insisted he was from Telstra NBN. I told him to send a written confirmation since I was skeptical and aware that my internet was functioning properly. Despite my attempts to interrupt him, he continued talking over me, which prompted me to angrily say goodbye. Another typical scamming attempt.
The number called me from Cairns, but I chose not to answer. After reading other users' comments, I believe this is likely a scammer trying to get through.
A woman called and addressed me by name, claiming to be from Telstra. When I told her I don’t use Telstra services, she insisted that the Telstra accounts department provided her with my details. I repeated that I do not use Telstra, and before she could say much more, I decided to hang up to avoid the conversation.
This report describes a scam call that pretended to be from Telstra, claiming to offer a discount for being a valued customer. The caller utilized two different phone numbers when contacted back.
I received a call from someone claiming to be from Telstra, stating that they were offering a discount for being a good customer. However, I have never been a customer of Telstra. When I informed them of this, they hung up immediately.
I have marked this number as a scam based on multiple similar reports from others. I recommend blocking it.
Please do not answer this call or provide any information. The caller requested a 6-digit code for a discount, which is a tactic used to hack into Microsoft email accounts. They send a password reset request to your mobile, posing as Microsoft. I've reported this to Scam Watch. Just block this number.
I received a scam call from someone claiming to be from Telstra, offering me a discount for being a loyal customer. This is likely a scam.
I blocked a scam caller that displayed a Cairns City, QLD number (07 4222 0792) after identifying them as spam and reporting them.
Claimed to be ‘Jennifer’ from Telstra internet, telling me they’ve done a check on my line and my IP address is no longer running as private, and is now public, and did I have any idea about that…
Once I said, “that’s funny, I don’t have Telstra internet” the call suddenly disconnected.
Call had call center noise in the back ground.
I experienced a long pause after answering a call from a person claiming to be Grace from Telstra, who said she was calling about my internet connection. When I asked how they obtained my phone number, they abruptly hung up. I tried to call back to request my number be removed from their list, but the line was no longer in service. This call originated from (07) 4222 0792 in Cairns at 11:21 am AEST on Monday, January 15, 2024.
Second that. Scam caller. The usual "We have been getting notifications about problems with your internet".
Call blocked by my phone. It's a scam.
A woman called me claiming to be from Telstra. I ended the call and immediately contacted Telstra to verify her claims, which confirmed that the call was indeed a scam.
PayPal scammer from usual overseas country.
The caller claimed to be from debit card security and asked if I had used my debit card. The caller had an Asian accent, and the phone number registered as coming from Cairns City, Queensland.
Claimed to be Telstra on the recorded message they left but that was the only thing they said.
