Scam

I received a phone call from a landline number which appeared on my mobile telephone screen as 07 3910 4676. As I am familiar with the appearance of landline numbers such as this telephone number I accepted the call. The call immediately commenced with an automated message purporting to be from Visa. The message informed me that suspicious transactions associated with purchases from Amazon and Apple iTunes had been detected on my Visa credit card. I was asked to use my mobile phone keypad to indicate whether the transactions were legitimate and provide directions. #1 was for not legitimate; #2 was to authorise the transactions. I reported the incident to the two financial institutions with which I have Visa credit cards and requested that they investigate and provide a report to me.
