This article provides a breakdown of user experiences and tips on how to handle such calls effectively.

Classification of 07 3706 4831

The majority of user reports categorise 07 3706 4831 / 0737064831 as a scam. The main concerns include:

  • Verbal Trickery: Callers have been known to ask if the recipient is indeed themselves. Confirming your identity, especially with a simple 'yes,' can be exploited for fraudulent purposes.
  • Competition Scams: Several users reported that the callers claimed to be from a company conducting a draw for a substantial cash prize or luxury prizes, which are characteristic of deceptive practices aimed at collecting personal information.
  • Disconnection Issues: Multiple individuals attempted to return the call, only to be greeted with messages indicating the number was disconnected or incomplete, raising serious doubts about its authenticity.

User Experiences - Common Themes

Users describe persistent, repetitive calls that either go unanswered or produce an eerie silence on the other end. The phrase "I've blocked this number" has appeared in several reviews, suggesting a shared sentiment of disbelief and frustration over the callers' tactics.

The documented behaviour of the callers indicates a concerted effort to mislead; for example, claiming to represent a legitimate competition, only for follow-ups to reveal the number has been disconnected upon replay. Such tactics heighten alarm bells for potential victims.

Dodgy! Avoid! This number has called me 8 times, mostly out of hours. I was dubious with a 37...# so didn't answer & they never leave a message. Accidently answered but said nothing, heard nothing on other end then felt it was a computer so hung up. Called the number back & it said disconnected.

I answered only because the number looked local! They said is this Nicole, I said yes (stupid me but thought it could have been anyone really!) said they were from? Brands choice then said have a nice day and hung up - so I am freaking out now having read articles about this.

Claimed household member had entered online competition to win luxury motor home and asked for him to call back.

I received a few calls from this number but didn't answer in time. When I try to call back, the recorded message says Optus advises the number is disconnected. Sounds like its been redirected to a dodgy mobile. I will be blocking this number.

Scam

Sounded like a scam...

Someone called with my name and kept asking if I was who I was (recently saw something on Facebook with replying with 'yes' as this can be used for fraud) I replied with variations of 'yes' I was asked three times then asked for information to go in a draw for $250000- sounds fake to me!

About This Report

This page is part of the Reverseau Scam Intelligence Database, a community-driven dataset maintained by Reverseau since 2014. The database documents caller behaviour across Australian phone numbers based on first-hand user experiences.

Each entry is generated when individuals who received calls or messages from a number submit a report through our review form. Reports include a caller safety rating (1–5 scale) and a written account of the interaction. All submissions are moderated before publication.

The safety rating shown on this page reflects the collective assessment of (07) 3706 4831 by real users. It measures perceived caller risk, not the quality of this page. A low rating indicates that reporters consider this number likely to be associated with scam or spam activity.
