What Our Users Reviewed
Scam call. Received a call at 1:02 pm today. A man with an Indian accent said his name was “Kevin Watson” calling from my bank to ask if I authorised an international transfer from my account to someone in the US for four hundred odd dollars. I said I did not authorise such a transaction. He said he would need to pass on the call to another representative to block the transaction. I asked if the transfer had been made already and he said not yet but that they received a request to transfer and that’s why they were contacting me. He then insisted on me putting him on speakerphone so that he could recite some reference number. I was in public and couldn’t hear him so I said I couldn’t do that. At first he asked to call me back at a better time. When I asked him why I needed to speak to anyone else when I confirmed I didn’t authorise the transfer, he said the other representative had to block the transfer and secure my account. All very fishy of course. He then asked me to go to the App Store to download an application. At that point I told him this was a suspicious call and that I would contact my bank directly. He said this was not something the local branch could help with because it was an international transaction. I said I was going to call my bank. He said there was no need, that he could provide some employee ID for verification. I said there was no way I could verify that. He started telling me to Google something. I ended the call and blocked the number.
This phone number is calling me at 6:30 am & this morning at 7 am & I have blocked numbers but they return with a different number.
I am really annoyed about receiving calls at 2:43 AM; it disrupted my sleep.
