I encountered a scam resembling the old PC scams, this time concerning my internet connection. The caller asked me to check the lights on my modem. I confronted him, calling him a scammer, and threatened to report him to Scamwatch before hanging up.
When I answered this call, there was silence on the other end, and I only heard beeping noises. I hung up quickly as it felt suspicious.
When I answered the phone, the caller hung up immediately. This behavior suggests they might be trying to confirm whether my number is active, likely for scamming purposes.
