Understanding the Threat of 07 3002 6600

Received a call from 07 3002 6600? You’re not alone. Numerous users have reported suspicious interactions with this number, which are linked to potential scams, specifically impersonating the National Australia Bank (NAB). Our analysis reveals a consistent pattern among user experiences with this number.

The Impersonation Tactics

One individual recounted an interaction on 13 October 2021, describing how the caller claimed to be 'Thomas from NAB Queen Street.' His communication began with a request regarding an ‘express business deposit,’ however, upon further scrutiny, it became evident that something was amiss: the individual had no existing relationship with NAB. This prompted the caller to hastily say, "don’t stress, we just figured it out" before abruptly ending the conversation.

Identifying a Scam

The telltale signs of a suspicious call often include:

  • Unsolicited calls about accounts you do not hold.
  • Pressure tactics that induce confusion.
  • Termination of the call without clear resolution.

In this instance, the subsequent call back not only raised red flags due to the lack of common sense business practices - such as providing a verification number related to a supposed delivery - but the abruptness of the call's termination suggests high-pressure sales or a scam scenario.

Recommended Actions for You

So, what should you do if you receive a call from 07 3002 6600? Here are some practical steps:

  • Do not engage: Avoid giving out personal information.
  • Verify independently: If they claim to be from a legitimate company, hang up and contact the company using an official number found on their website.
  • Report the call: Notify your telecommunication company and consider reporting it to consumer protection agencies.

Missed a call from this number, they left a message saying it was "thomas from the NAB queen street regarding an 'express business deposit'"........... I called back and spoke to a girl who said 'thomas' was busy.............. Then he called back and claimed they'd received an express postal delivery from me, but there was no receipt number.......... Told him I have never had an NAB account or any dealings with them.......... He hurriedly said "don't stress we just figured it out" and hung up......

About This Report

This page is part of the Reverseau Scam Intelligence Database, a community-driven dataset maintained by Reverseau since 2014. The database documents caller behaviour across Australian phone numbers based on first-hand user experiences.

Each entry is generated when individuals who received calls or messages from a number submit a report through our review form. Reports include a caller safety rating (1–5 scale) and a written account of the interaction. All submissions are moderated before publication.

The safety rating shown on this page reflects the collective assessment of (07) 3002 6600 by real users. It measures perceived caller risk, not the quality of this page. A low rating indicates that reporters consider this number likely to be associated with scam or spam activity.
