I received a call from a woman with a strong accent and poor English claiming she was calling from within Australia. It seemed dubious, and I didn’t believe her at all.

The caller claimed to be from Telstra, although I am not even a Telstra customer. He had a strong accent from somewhere in the subcontinent and falsely stated that he noticed several concerns regarding my internet usage. I kept him on the line for nearly five minutes before he hung up. It's shameful how these scammers operate.

When I answered this call at 3 PM EST, the caller immediately hung up without saying anything.

I heard a recorded message in an Australian voice claiming I had an outstanding debt that I could either approve or decline by pressing '1.' Since I don’t use PayPal, I ended the call and blocked the number.

I received a call from a call center that claimed to be from NBN, offering to upgrade my internet connection. They asked if a light was on my modem, which felt fishy. I hung up before they could continue.

A man with an Indian accent claimed to be from Commonwealth Bank (CBA) and informed me that a transaction of $499 had been transferred from my account to an overseas account. He warned me that it would be flagged as a fraudulent transaction if I did not authorize it.

A woman with an Indian accent called, claiming to be from some department. Her English was very poor, making it difficult to understand her. She asked if I had authorized a payment of $900.00, which prompted me to hang up the phone immediately.

I received a recorded message in both English and Chinese, stating that my mobile phone contract was unusual and would be canceled. This is definitely a scam. Just block this number! 🤣🤣💩💩

Why isn't the Australian Govt or the Telcos doing more to stop these AHs?

I received a call from a woman with a pleasant Australian accent, who warned me about a possible unauthorized online transaction worth $799. She offered me options: 1) Press one for an investigation, or 2) Press two if I did not wish to pursue the matter. I chose not to press anything and checked my PayPal account; nothing suspicious was there. Exercise caution with such calls.

I received a robocall that claimed to be from "PayPal Bank," stating that I had unclaimed money awaiting my attention. This is obviously a scam attempt.

I received a pre-recorded message that mentioned PayPal, which I believe is from a scammer.

A caller claiming to be from the government reached out, stating they were going to replace my hot water system. This has been identified as a scam and should be treated with caution.

A caller with an Indian accent claimed to be from PayPal security, saying they needed to verify details about a potential fraudulent transaction. When I mentioned that I would check my PayPal account first, he abruptly hung up.

The caller was difficult to understand and mentioned Telstra and NBN services. I informed them that I would report the call as a scam before hanging up.

I received a call from someone with a strong Indian accent in a noisy call center. They claimed to be from Telstra and offered me a new modem with a technician to install it in four days. I did not provide any personal information, and upon contacting Telstra directly, they confirmed there was no record of this call or any action to replace my modem.

I received a recorded message that pretended to be from PayPal, asking me to approve a purchase of Apple gift cards worth $899. The message prompted me to press '1' for yes and '2' for no. I strongly advise against pressing any buttons!

When I answered this call, there was dead air on the line, which is suspicious. If you receive a similar call, do not respond with "YES," as it could be a phishing attempt.

I received a call from a SCAMMER claiming to be from Telstra regarding my internet connection. The call was filled with a lot of background noise from what sounded like a busy call center.

Scam.

I keep receiving constant phone calls from this number. When I answer, they hang up immediately. I have now added this number to my blacklist to avoid any further contact.

The caller had a heavy accent, making it hard to understand. They claimed that my mobile number, which I've had for 10 years, is illegal. I requested they send me a text for clarity, but I have not received any text message since. This incident occurred at approximately 2:00 PM Brisbane time, and I suspect it might be a scam.

The caller claimed my internet was slow and wanted me to give him control of my internet connection. This is a big red flag—definitely a scam attempt!
