I responded to a wanted ad I posted on Gumtree where someone claimed to have what I was looking for. Thankfully, I checked here first before getting further involved, which enabled me to play along a bit. Eventually, they stopped responding, so be cautious of this potential scammer.
I have strong suspicions that this guy is a scammer. If anyone has further information about this dubious call, please share.
Contacted me via Gumtree from our wanted ad. Gave me pictures of the item they had that was worth far more than what we had listed as a buy price wanted and requested monies to be deposited to them without seeing the vehicle. Sent me pictures that belonged to another sellers vehicle after a reverse image lookup. The vehicle is for sale at 12500 currently. Our ad was wanting to buy at $1500 negotiable only. Didn't want me to call and discuss the item.
