The caller had a very noisy background and claimed to be Jessica from Telstra, asking to speak with the internet account owner. I told her I would call the official Telstra number, and she abruptly hung up.
Scam call. Caller Adam, Indian accent claiming to be from National Broadband Network. Blocked number.
I received a call from this mobile number, which I do not recognize. I noticed that it has been reported by others in the past, indicating it may not be trustworthy.
Received an audio message 5 Sep 2023 in which the opening portion was conveniently garbled, suppressing the (possible) identity of the caller, who claimed to be concerned about recent transactions on my account, and inviting a response if I had not initiated them.
Unsurprisingly, I did not respond other than to block the caller.
My VOIP phone rang, and when my answering machine picked up, the call dropped without leaving a message. After attempting to return the call from my mobile twice (which incurred no charges), the line didn't ring, and the connection was lost immediately. I can only suspect that this is one of those annoying callers who don’t have any legitimate purpose.
The number rang - did not leave a message - I do not know the number and will not answer - so presume it is a scammer, charity or survey - have now blocked the number. In the past four days I have received about 10 of these calls.
