I have received multiple calls from this scammer claiming to be from Westpac Bank, insisting that my mortgage is overdrawn. Always verify directly with your bank and never engage with these deceitful calls. The scammers use fake names and may provide altered account details, but remember that your bank will never text you regarding such matters! I have reported and blocked this number.

08.04.2024: Received a text from Bank of Melbourne (which is a St George/Westpac subsidiary stating 'Hello Axxxx, your home loan ending xxxx is $xxx overdue. Please tell us when you will pay: Replay 1 pay today. Reply 2 pay within 5 days.

Not sure if legit but from reviews above it may be as I do have a loan with them and the last 4 numbers are correct. So if a scam its an elaborate one.

I received a text message claiming there was a $75 pending payment from my mortgage account, which is likely a scam. It is important not to engage or respond to these messages as they may be part of a trap.

Got an sms, states it is from WESTPAC, quotes last 4 numbers of my loan account which it says is overdue or behind, and to press 1 if I will pay today or 2 if I will pay over the coming five days. Have not yet called WESTPAC.

Yes. I received the same message stating it was from Westpac. Same request. I rang Westpac and it was legitimate. NOT A SCAM.

This phone number stated from Westpac showing my last 4 numbers of my homeloan requesting for me to press one of 2 numbers to pay outstanding today or in 5 days as its now overdue... My mortgage repayments come out weekly direct debit... Definitely scam.

I received an SMS that claimed to be from St. George Bank, stating that I have an overdue amount on my mortgage. It seems odd to me that a bank would send this type of message, so I suspect it is a scam.
