Missed a call from this number, but they keep ringin'. Bit odd, don’t you think?
It is important to note that energy companies only rent the meteor box, which is why you need to provide the meteor number. They do not own or service these boxes directly.
As a client of Origin Energy, I received a message requesting a payment that matched the amount I previously owed. Since I have already paid this bill, I believe this message to be part of a scam, as they somehow managed to access my payment information.
I received an annoying text from Origin regarding a payment that is due in the future. While it may be genuine, it feels like junk mail, and I just want them to stop contacting me.
This # appears to be associated with a meter/technician works scam order trying to get people to call their scam 1300791458 # which I presume captures your phone.
It's a scam, I have an account but the acc no is wrong. They would not use a local cell no, they would use the usual form of contact.
I was contacted regarding a pending invoice related to a fake Origin Energy bill; however, I do not have any service with Origin at all.
This is a legitimate number. I received an SMS from Origin Energy confirming that they have sent me an email regarding access to my property for servicing the power box. I checked my email and found the corresponding message.
I received a text message that appeared to be from Origin Energy, reminding me of a payment of $296.24 (including GST) for my electricity account, stating it was due on 03/02/23 with a payment link included. I found this suspicious since they didn’t previously have my number, leading me to believe it was a scam.
I received a text message stating they need access to my meter and that an appointment was scheduled for November. I have not requested any meter service from Origin and will be contacting them to confirm.
I received a text message labeled as a 'bill reminder' just as my email bill was arriving. It felt like a tactic to ease me into a discussion. A week later, I got a rather official-looking message stating that my monthly bill would be doubling, which genuinely startled me.
I received a suspicious text message from this number, labeling it as SCAM SCAM SCAM.
I received an SMS indicating that a company named Origin wanted access to my meter, which is quite concerning, especially if the request is not genuinely from them. I have emailed Origin for clarification and will patiently wait for their response. Additionally, I want to mention that I did not set up my account preferences for contact via phone.
I just received the same type of message related to billing. Interestingly, it came right after I received my bill two days ago.
Origin scam.
I'm an Origin account holder, and I confirm that my bills are sent to my email. I also receive both email and text reminders for upcoming due dates, so I can assure you this situation is valid and properly managed.
This is a scam originating from the number 0480 018 505. Do not engage with this caller!
I received a text message resembling others that claims to be a reminder about my gas account payment due tomorrow. The account number is indeed mine, and the amount due appears to be correct. However, I am reluctant to click on the link provided.
I received a suspicious text message that said, "Hi, just letting you know that your Origin gas bill has now been emailed. If it's not in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder. Thanks, Origin." I ignored it since I already received my bill through the regular process. Be cautious, as this could be a phishing attempt.
I only contact these people via email. This number is associated with scamming and theft, so it's best to avoid it.
I received an SMS stating that a bill had been sent to my email. I had actually received the expected bill the night before. I deleted the text message without opening it and always ensure I log into my account directly before opening any attachments for security purposes.
I have received several text messages regarding a bill that is due, instructing me to check my junk mail. Most recently, another text stated the exact amount I owe. I logged into my Origin account and confirmed that the balance is accurate. However, I am reluctant to pay via the provided link, as I’ve read that many have warned this could be a scam. I will be paying directly through my Origin account instead.
I received an SMS similar to others reported here and told the sender to stop contacting me. Later, I received an email at my correct address continuing the conversation. I have since blocked both the SMS sender and the email address and reported this situation to ScamWatch.
Just got a text with this number purporting to be from Origin Energy and advising that email has been sent as to bill. Suggesting that if not in inbox (there was no email from Origin in inbox) I should check junk/spam folder. No email there in the spam/ junk folder but no obvious scam technique e.g. A request to go to any link. Still probably a scam and not part of the usual way I deal with Origin. Should be treated as a potential scam.
I received a text message from someone claiming to be Ben from Origin Energy. They requested my personal details, which made me suspicious and concerned.
I received a message from a number claiming to be the "origin" of a payment for $310.00. This is clearly a fraudulent attempt to scam money from me. It’s frustrating that lowlifes resort to such nonsense!
The caller stated that I had an unpaid bill with Origin Energy, but I do not have an account with them. This is undoubtedly a scam, so please be cautious if you receive a similar call!
This number claims to be from Origin Energy, attempting to collect a payment. However, it is clearly a scam with a lot of misleading information included in their text messages. I strongly advise deleting any messages from this number and not engaging with them.
