I answered the call, but the caller hung up within 30 seconds of me picking up, leaving me confused about the purpose of the call.
Two women called claiming to represent Telstra, but they were unable to provide any specific information regarding my Telstra account. They said Telstra was offering a 30% discount for six months, but I was instructed to open a link they would send me to confirm this offer. I refused, especially since they insisted they could only verify my account after I clicked the link. They called from the number 03 996417, which raised my suspicion.
The caller claimed to be from the Department of Immigration and mentioned having emergency documents. The call offered language options, including English and Chinese, but quickly proceeded in Chinese, prompting me to hang up.
On August 19, 2024, at 12:04 PM, I received a call from an unknown number. The caller spoke in a foreign language very rapidly, presenting what sounded like important information.
