Thank goodness my phone gave this dodgy number the boot! It’s not in my contacts, so I just let it ring. No voicemail left? Classic sign of another lowlife scammer up to no good…

I WOULDN'T ANSWER A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER!!! I received a call from this number, using my full name asking to talk about my PAY ID from ANZ, I have not flagged anything PAY ID related with ANZ so thought it was strange, I hung up when they started to ask personal questions for identification and they called back but have left no message and I did not answer. As soon as I answered the original call I just had a gut feeling it was scam and better to be safe than sorry and not give details over the phone if unsure - if ANZ really need me they can find another way to contact me! Be safe as I think Scammers are getting more "legit" also if you go on ANZ site they have a warning about increase in scam calls.

I spoke directly with ANZ, and they confirmed they’ve got no idea who this number is. Not even the 1800 number they wanted me to call back on is linked to them. Total scam!

I was contacted by a scammer posing as ANZ after having a negative experience buying something through Facebook. They attempted to take more of my bank information even though ANZ had previously helped me recover my lost money. My advice is to only engage with companies like Amazon directly and avoid transactions via platforms like Facebook.

I'm curious why so many people are labeling this number as a scam. I received a call from them, and it turned out to be ANZ bank verifying a transaction I made earlier that day. They informed me that my card was blocked for security reasons. I believe they may be operating from an overseas office, but they were helpful in resolving the issue and unblocking my card.

This call was a legitimate callback from ANZ Bank after I had previously contacted them to verify my identity. However, exercise caution if you receive unexpected calls from this number, as there are many spoofers operating.

Scam

I received a call today at 5:28 PM from the number (03) 9955 3000. The caller had an Indian accent and when I inquired about the reason for the call, he claimed to be contacting me from my bank. When I asked which bank, he responded with something that sounded like "Li On Bank." I believe this is a scam call, as it's common for scammers to spoof legitimate phone numbers. I doubt any bank staff would still be working at that time of the evening.

I received a cold call from a woman in India asking me about the type of loan I wanted. Although she did not mention ANZ Bank, she appeared to be spoofing their number.
