Busy day. First I got an SME telling me my ANZ bank account was about to be suspended. Interesting as I do not have an ANZ account. Next, these clowns called. Remember: Never answer a call if you do not recognise the number. It is most likely 'a first-line scammer'. And if you answer, your number and your willingness to answer will be recorded and on-sold to Really bad scammers. Should somebody really want to speak with you, they will leave a message and you can then decide if you need to respond.
A man with foreign accent called into my company landline, asking if I am the boss. I said "No I'm not. What can I do for you?". He then hanged up the phone. Look, I don't care if you're telemarketer or not, but you should be polite to anyone answering the phone. We are your potential clients (or not), but we are not robots. Do not piss us off if you don't want the same thing happens to you.
