The Nature of the Scam

The nature of this potential scam seems to incorporate tactics of social engineering. Scammers often spoof numbers or impersonate credible organisations to foster trust and seek answers for confirmation. • Report Suspicious Activity: If you suspect this number is misusing its influence, report your experience to ScamWatch.
  • Educate Yourself: Familiarise yourself with common telemarketing tactics and modern scams to stay one step ahead.

In Conclusion

Exercise caution, don't engage with the call, and always consider a reverse phone lookup in Australia for unfamiliar numbers to protect yourself from deceptive practices.

I got this call as well and also called Business Victoria on their number 13 22 15 to check if it was from them.

The told me it was and that 'Bailey' is their Robo Voice/Caller.

So don't be alarmed if you have taken this call.

It is actually from Business Victoria.

I told them I would also post on the message boards to note this for them - they were very appreciative of this.

I voiced my concern so they understand it's not great having people answer 'Yes' and 'No' on a robo call.

Stay safe everyone.

Suspicious

According to 'Business Victoria', this robo call from 'Bailey' is genuine and not a scam. It is to remind businesses to have a COVID safe plan in place. I suspect this is an expensive waste of tax payer's money. The problem with the call is that it requires a response from the listener (I.e. 'Can you hear me') rather than just simply providing the information. Most of us don't want to say anything to a recorded robo call - because we are all wary of scams. If you don't answer, then the call stops, and so you don't hear the message that the Government is trying to get out to us. BIG FAIL!

About This Report

This page is part of the Reverseau Scam Intelligence Database, a community-driven dataset maintained by Reverseau since 2014. The database documents caller behaviour across Australian phone numbers based on first-hand user experiences.

Each entry is generated when individuals who received calls or messages from a number submit a report through our review form. Reports include a caller safety rating (1–5 scale) and a written account of the interaction. All submissions are moderated before publication.

The safety rating shown on this page reflects the collective assessment of (03) 9068 3488 by real users. It measures perceived caller risk, not the quality of this page. A low rating indicates that reporters consider this number likely to be associated with scam or spam activity.
