Same as Bergman - pretending to be Google, crypto account getting hacked.
They say they're from Bybit support, but I reckon that's fishy. Be cautious, mates!
Got a dodgy text claiming it's from Google Authenticator... Pretty sus if you ask me!
Blokes trying to pull a fast one claiming to be from Google. Complete rort if you ask me!
Pretending to be Google.
Pretending to be Google.
On 28/10/2025 I received a SMS message stating that my Authenticator app was connected to a new device. "If you did not do this, contact us at 0386096957" I called the number, and the people sounded very professional and that they were from Google. They sounded like they were African-English. They advised that my crypto account had been hacked and that I would need to reset the account. When I told them I was a little suspicious, and that I would end the call and check it out, they were more insistent that they needed to help. I asked them what was the email address for my crypto account, they gave me the address, which is my gmail account, but not my crypto account.
Big alarm there.
So I hung up.
Seems like this number's trying to pull a trick, pretending to be Google or something. Stay alert!
I believe this number is attempting to reach me to book additional appointments, but I don't have any appointments set up that I am aware of.
