So, I got a call at 5:20 PM today, claimed to be from Energy Australia. I answered, only for the bloke to hang up on me! He called back almost instantly, with this thick accent trying to confirm my name as Mark. My Qantas card got hacked not long ago – could this be linked? Anyway, I wasn't about to play along and just hung up, noting it came from Craigieburn like others have mentioned.
I recently experienced identity theft, and today this number called me twice after I regained access to my accounts. Both times, the callers, who spoke with Indian accents, claimed to be staff from Energy Australia. This seems very suspicious to me.
I received a legitimate call from Energy Australia. I had initiated a call regarding my move and the disconnection of my service. Unfortunately, we got disconnected, but the customer service representative called me back using his official phone number. This call was genuine and helpful. 🙂
I contacted this number to cancel my account and request a refund for my credit. They returned my call the same day, about an hour later. The representative was calling to correct an error made by a colleague regarding my refund amount. The call was legitimate, as I recognized the same representative who had previously misquoted my refund.

Initially, I rang Energy Australia as my electricity stopped working and While on the call to them I was cut off. I rang Energy Aust back and in the midst of the call this number called and left a message but of course didn't know the number and being on the phone talking to Energy Aust I didn't check till now. This phone number was from Craigieburn, like others have said. I would say its legitimate. Btw, in the meantime My neighbour and I flipped the switch and all is well on this very freezing cold day.
After signing up with EA, they called me back to inform me that the rebate quote they provided earlier was slightly incorrect. The representative gave specific details that only someone familiar with our original conversation would know before asking me to identify myself.
I was on a call with Energy Australia when it disconnected. Shortly after, I received a call back from this number.
I received 10 calls from this number within the last 3 hours, but I did not answer any of them, and they did not leave a voicemail. Based on previous reports, some users mentioned that this might be related to Energy Australia. I recently arranged for a disconnection with them today, so it's possible they are trying to contact me to discuss my service for my new location.
We received two calls from this number, asking us banking-related questions. When we tried to ask them questions in return, they claimed they couldn't disclose any information and said they would call back.
As soon as I answered this call, the caller hung up. I suspect it might be a scammer trying to gather information or waste my time.
This number displayed as a Craigieburn number and called me 17 times yesterday (24-11-2023) from after midday up until 6.19 p.m. If they were genuine they could have easily left me a voice message or sent me a text message. Also if it is so important to contact me why haven't they called me today even though it is a Saturday. If they are not criminal scammers or nuisance callers they are very poorly trained and need some real education on how to contact people in a professional and legitimate manner. My advice is simply beware of this caller who will not leave a voice message or send you a text message..
