I noticed this incoming call was labeled as "Potential Fraud," so I chose not to answer it. They did not leave any voicemail when I didn't pick up.
Rang yesterday late around 9.00 pm. Gravelly voice man mentioned called free Vic Gov hot water service and a person will be at my address on the next day. Had my name and address. I replied and said wasn't interested and hung up.
I received a call from this number telling me they were from Australian Cyber Security. They had my email address, mobile 3 & street address.
The caller quoted my full name and informed me that my email and phone number had been compromised in both the US and Australia. They struggled to deliver their scripted message clearly, which led me to hang up out of frustration.
I let it call out, no message left.
The caller contacted me around 5 PM. I chose not to answer and they did not leave a voicemail. Based on previous reports, I suspect this could be a scam.
I received a call claiming that I could get a 50% discount on my bills for six months, but they requested a one-time code sent via SMS. It's important to note that Telstra would never ask for this type of information over the phone. I suggest you hang up if you receive a similar call.
