I had a missed call from this number from around 8 pm last night (Saturday)
Thanks to the reviews below I didn’t bother calling back and have blocked the number.
PS: I didn’t think telemarketers were allowed to call so late especially on weekends.
I too had a call from “David” at 1915HRs on a Saturday night!
Letting me know I was very lucky to be eligible for a hot water rebate.
I told him where he could stick his rebate.
Think I had the same caller as you!
Weekend telemarketing call at 645 PM.
Missed call from this number. Called back a male with Filipino accent called Brad Jones.
Background sounded like a call centre.
Caller told me I was eligible for hot water rebate - if I could get my latest water and electricity bills and read out the account numbers. He also needed my full name and address.
I told him if I was “eligible” for this offer; he should have my details. Male appeared angered by this and started raising his voice at me.
Received call at 6:30 PM on a Saturday!
Was expecting a callback from a similar number, so answered call.
I said hello … TWICE …. And could hear a lot of chatter in the background. After saying hello for a THIRD time, the caller hung up.
I called back and on the first ring, I was connected and was greeted by “David Sims” (caller’s name clearly fake as he pronounced both names peculiarly)
I asked “why did you just call me and hang up?”
He replied “I never called you ma’am, you initiated the call, and thank you for calling the ‘Hot Water Rebate Hotline’. He then attempted to tell me that I was interested in some sort of hot water rebate deals.
I told him he wasn’t interested and he attempted to talk over me - I then hung up and blocked number.
