Got a call from someone claiming to be the Australian Federal Police. Sounds a bit fishy, don’t you think?
I received a call from this number, which my phone flagged as potential fraud. I chose not to answer, and they didn't leave any voicemail message.
I received a call from (03) 7050 4109 on my mobile phone. It was a prerecorded message warning me that "your phone number will be disconnected..." I found this alarming and hung up immediately.
I received this number recently, and my phone identified it as a potential fraud risk. I chose to ignore the call and later verified the number, which confirmed it was a scam, leading me to report and block it automatically.
Voicemail pretending to be commonwealth bank regarding a $1500 transaction on my card. I don’t bank with CBA.
The phone detected this as spam so it didn't ring. The "message" it left was about 10 seconds of silence. Just another one to add to the block list.
These scammers are now even targeting Norwegian numbers, clearly indicating their reach beyond Australia. It seems they are trying to exploit as many people as possible.
Crooks. Indian voice, obviously reading from a script. Claimed to be from PayPal regarding a $500 payment made to a USA recipient. Definitely a scam.
Scam caller, block.
A caller claiming to be Brenda from ANZ Bank contacted me about a $1,000 charge on my card. However, I do not have an account with ANZ, and I found her attempt very misleading.
I answered the call, but the caller hung up immediately. This behavior seems suspicious, leading me to believe it's likely a scam call.
Picked up the call, automated message saying a fraudulent transaction of $1,800 was flagged on my CBA Debit Card (the first red flag). But I don't bank with CBA (2nd red flag) and hung up.
I just got a call from this number regarding my IP address, and I found it so annoying that I covered my phone with a metal mixing bowl and hit it several times with a spoon! They might be deaf now! 🤣🤣🤣
When I answered the call and asked, "What do you want?" the caller simply hung up without providing any information.
The phone did not ring but apparently I missed the call but the caller didn't leave a message. There is no need to comment further, the comments below are enough.
I wonder when those "callers" run out of people they can take for a ride. I hope soon although soon is not soon enough.
I received three calls from different numbers within the same minute. I answered the last call, but the caller didn’t say anything and just hung up. If I experience this situation again, I’m tempted to respond in a humorous way. The first call was identified with a location in Melbourne.
Missed call, did not return call, number not known to me BLOCKED AND DELETED.
Spam - pretending to be from ANZ Bank.
I suspect this is a fake phone company. I've received four spam calls from them today. I’m getting very fed up with it.
I chose not to answer the call, and since no message was left, I assumed it might be a scam. I later checked online and saw similar comments from others.
The caller stated that my IP access had been hacked and claimed to be from Microsoft.
After answering the call, there was a delay followed by a 'click', and a person with a thick Indian accent introduced themselves as "Kevin from Amazon." It sounded like an obvious scam, so I’ve decided to block the number.
Scam caller. Purports to be from Commonwealth bank.
After answering the call, there was a short silence followed by a person introducing themselves as "Kevin from Amazon." It is clearly a spam call attempting to lure me into a scam.
This call was from someone claiming to be Olivia from Commonwealth Bank. They mentioned a pending charge of $1800 on my card and urged me to press 1 if I did not authorize it. The call had an unprofessional tone and felt suspicious, as it seemed they were attempting to extract personal information or money.
Recorded message, supposedly from Comm Bank. Scam call.
Claimed to be commonwealth bank with an automated message asking to approve or not approve a debit of $1800 from the account.
The caller claimed to be from Commonwealth Bank and stated that an unauthorized payment was being requested. They instructed me to press 1 for one option or 2 for another. This raised my suspicions as it seemed like a scam.
The voicemail from this caller instructed me to press 1 for inquiries in English and 2 in Chinese. Subsequently, they left a message in Chinese, after which I deleted the message and blocked the number due to its suspicious nature.
I received a call from this number at 12:34 PM today. I let it ring out and then checked this site for more information. After reading other users' comments, I confirmed my suspicion that it was a scam call.
Another Indian scammer from india.
This was a scam call from a landline. The automated message started by claiming there was a suspicious withdrawal affecting a bank account that I do not even have.
The caller claimed to be contacting me about my "Telstra internet service," but I do not have an account with Telstra at all. This raises suspicion about the legitimacy of the call.
I received a call claiming there was a suspicious transaction linked to Commonwealth Bank, but we are not clients of that bank. It’s no surprise that so many people ignore calls like this nowadays.
After checking this number here, I blocked it. I now find that I have more blocked callers than actual contacts in my phone. I wish our telco companies would take more action against these unwanted calls!
I received a call from this number, supposedly from the Commonwealth Bank, warning me about a $1800 fee against my account. When I told 'Jason', who had a distinct foreign accent, that I do not have an account with them, he bizarrely claimed that Commbank handles all financial security for Australia. He hung up when I asked if his mother was proud of him for scamming people.
The caller identified herself as "Olivia from Commonwealth Bank," stating there was an $1800 charge against my debit card. I chose to hang up immediately due to the suspicious nature of the call.
I received a recorded message claiming to be from my bank but did not address me by name. There was no follow-up SMS. The recording stated that money had been withdrawn from my account and instructed me to call them back, which I ignored. I have noticed similar calls, supposedly "from banks," that I don't have accounts with, often originating from Melbourne.
This is clearly a scam call. The caller identified themselves as being from the "Visa Mastercard department" but disconnected the call before providing any further information.
I received a call about an "access advantage account" allegedly having a large sum of money withdrawn. The caller asked me to log in and check this information. I refused and stated that I would contact my bank directly. They hung up immediately afterward.
Scam.
Called and left a voicemail claiming my mobile service is going to be disconnected, then tells you to press 1 for English and 2 for Chinese. Definitely a scam call.
Calls and leaves no voicemail, almost likely a scam.
This caller threatened to disconnect my phone services unless I paid a sum of several thousand dollars that I supposedly owe. I always keep my monthly contract payments up to date, and this does not even pertain to my actual phone company!
Scam call.
Unknown number. One of several in the last few hours. Probable scam caller.
