Foreign accent claiming to be calling about my Telstra internet. I am not with Telstra and I don't have home internet.
Total scammer.
The caller was pretending to be from Telstra, stating that my IP address is now public instead of private. I was uneasy about this claim, so I hung up and blocked the number immediately.
The caller pretended to be a representative from Telstra and attempted to convince me to change my IP address to private, indicating a scam attempt.
I accidentally hung up the call from this number and then checked it here before blocking it. Shortly after, I received another call from New Zealand at +64 26 657 9360. There were many voices in the background, suggesting that it might be a call center operation.
I missed a call from this number, but they left a message saying they were from Home Affairs. The message included instructions to press different keypad numbers for various languages. I suspected it was a scam, so I did not engage, hung up, and blocked the number. I will be reporting it as a scam.
When I asked if they intended to speak or not, the call was abruptly ended. They tried to reconnect later, but the line was not connected this time either.
I have noticed that calls coming from numbers starting with 03 have about a 50% chance of being a scam. I did not answer this particular call, but upon checking, this service confirmed it was indeed a scam. I will be blocking the number.
Scam pretending to be from Commonwealth Bank.
They knew my full name, which was alarming. However, when I asked who was calling, they hung up on me. I’ve reported them as spam and blocked their number.
I chose not to answer this call since I didn't recognize the number, and they did not leave a voice message.
I received a call with the typical scam line about my internet no longer being private. I managed to keep the scammer occupied for over an hour, which is a personal record for me! It's frustrating yet amusing how long they persisted.
The caller claimed to be "Brenda" from ANZ Bank, informing me that a request for $1,200 was being processed. I found this alarming as I don’t even have $900 in my account.
I was contacted by someone claiming to be from Vodafone. They told me that someone was trying to register using my mobile number, which I recognized as a scam call.
SCAM. Claimed to be from Telstra regarding my internet being attacked by having my internet set to public instead of private, kept insisting which device I was using either an android or iPhone? I mentioned I would rather speak with my brother as he works for Telstra and he said my brother wouldn't be able to me as he is calling from the technical department and then he kept insisting I to go to Google and type in "my ip address". When I said I didn't use Google he said to use safari, I said I didn't use it either he asked what did I use I said Duck Duck go and he wanted to know if it was a search engine. When I said for someone who works in a technical department he didn't seem to know very much and then he said he could hardly hear me so I hung up.
Unsolicited call. Cancelled.
The caller claimed to be from Telstra. When I urged her to quickly explain why she was calling, she responded with profanity and abruptly hung up, which I found amusing.
Scammers. Auto message for a fake charge.
I received an automated message stating that there has been a charge of $1800 to my account. It instructed me to "press #1" to cancel the charge or "press 2" to approve it. This seems like a scam.
Chinese Robocaller.
I do not recognize this number, so I checked its reputation online. I have blocked the number and reported it as spam.
The caller said there was an unauthorized payment of $499 made to America from my Commonwealth Bank account this morning. They asked if I had authorized the transaction, then handed the phone over to someone named "Mark" to discuss further details. I ended the call before any additional information could be provided. When I tried to call back, I received a message that the call could not be connected.
I played along with the caller for a while, wasting their time, and then we ended up exchanging insults. It was amusing, but these kinds of callers should be blocked from Telstra if they are known to harass customers.
This was a typical robocall scam. Instead of the usual high-pressure Chinese female bot voice, I received a call from an English female bot voice, but it still felt very much like a scam.
I got a recorded voicemail from a purported "Olivia" from the Commonwealth Bank. The issue is, I don’t even have an account with them, raising red flags about this call.
When I answered the phone, I heard a lot of background noise resembling a call center. A man was laughing with his coworkers but didn’t speak to me before hanging up.
Caller is a lowlife scumbag scammer.
Just block the number and report.
You mobile service will be terminated, blah blah blah...
Simply scam.
During this call, the caller claimed that I had just authorized a charge of $1200 to my credit card. Since I do not have an account with ANZ, this made me suspicious. They asked me to press button 1 if I hadn't authorized the charge, and then proceeded to transfer me to an agent. Realizing it was a scam, I immediately hung up.
The caller simply referenced a matter and then requested a payment, indicating this is likely a scam operation!
