I received a call from a person claiming that my internet service had been compromised. They mentioned that I had switched from a private to a public user and that my IP address was at risk. The call originated from a Melbourne number that I don't typically recognize. When I mentioned that my server was down due to scheduled work, the caller insisted that was not the case. I decided to hang up, but they called back while I was investigating the number.
The caller claimed to be from Telstra, stating that my internet service provider was exposed publicly. However, I use a full VPN on all my devices. When I called back 30 seconds after they hung up, the number was unavailable.
I received a spam call from someone posing as my bank. I recommend hanging up right away and blocking this number.
The caller claimed to be from PayPal and stated there was an unauthorized charge on my account. They asked for my registered email address. When I mentioned Scammerpayback, they became hostile and hung up. Definitely a scam!
I received what I am certain is a scam call where the caller claimed to be from ANZ, asking me to verify an alleged transaction of $1200.99. I do not trust this call.
Telemarketers solar panels.
This was definitely a scam call. The caller claimed to be from PayPal and stated that there had been unusual activity detected in my account, supposedly caused by a VPN. He insisted that I needed to turn off my account and wanted to send me a verification code that I had to read back to him. This is a classic tactic used by scammers. Please be very cautious and do not engage with this type of call.
The caller claimed to be from Telstra and mentioned there was a problem with my internet connection.
The caller had a strange robotic voice and knew my name. They claimed my phone number had changed from private to public and inquired whether I had adjusted any settings recently. They also mentioned they would call me back from a different line.
The caller claimed to be from Telstra and stated they wanted to verify whether I was on a Public IP Address. They offered to restore my IP Address to a Private Network, which sounds highly questionable.
I had a scam call from someone claiming to be from the Commonwealth Bank, asking me to verify an alleged charge of $1,800 on my account.
I received a scam call featuring a recorded message informing me that I was receiving the call because I had missed an important message from the Australian Government.
My phone protection flagged this number as a telemarketer, so I let it ring without answering. After researching the number and seeing other users' reports, I blocked it immediately.
