My phone flagged this number as a potential fraud caller, and it came up as an unanswered call. I did not engage with it.
I received a missed call from this number and there was no voicemail left. I find it strange that a number from Tasmania would be calling me in Western Australia. Moreover, this input comes just a day after another user reported a scam message from the same number, which raises further suspicions about this call being from scammers as well.
I chose not to answer the call because I did not recognize the number, which displayed as coming from Hermitage, Tasmania. Since they did not leave a message, I suspect it might be a scam, especially since other users have expressed similar concerns. For reference, the Commonwealth Bank typically communicates through their app or leaves a message if they call.
This caller pretended to be from the Commonwealth Bank, warning me of an unauthorized transaction of $1800 attempted on my account. I blocked the number and reported the incident to my bank.
Community reports are retained as historical safety signals within the Reverseau telecommunications safety dataset and may reflect different experiences over time.
