I recommend canceling any ongoing service related to this individual and removing all equipment provided to them. They should be marked as not eligible for any reconnection to telephone services.
I received a voicemail that instructs, “If you are a Chinese student, press 2.” I have been getting these calls repeatedly from different numbers, and my only option has been to block and report each one.
I returned the call from this number, and the message initially played in Chinese followed by English, claiming to represent Synergy Energy. However, the recording sounded significantly different from other calls I have received from Synergy in the past, which raises suspicions about the legitimacy of the call.
When I returned the call, there was a recording asking me to press 2 if I spoke Chinese, further indicating a potentially dubious operation.
Voicemail left: "if you are an Australian national, press 1 if you are a Chinese student.....". Definitely Spam.
Spam - pretended to be immigration.
Community reports are retained as historical safety signals within the Reverseau telecommunications safety dataset and may reflect different experiences over time.
