Scam

Definite call-centre scammer using fake local phone number, to encourage you to answer the call.

The Australian governments and telcos could stop most of the scammers tomorrow by removing the ability of the scammers to put fake phone numbers in the Caller ID.

The Caller ID should be only put in by the carrier, NOT by the dodgy call centre from India or whatever other cesspool they live in.

If a valid Caller does not want their number displayed, fine, but then it comes up as zeros or nines or whatever, and people can chose themselves whether they want to answer it… not be tricked into answering it.

About This Report

This page is part of the Reverseau Scam Intelligence Database, a community-driven dataset maintained by Reverseau since 2014. The database documents caller behaviour across Australian phone numbers based on first-hand user experiences.

Each entry is generated when individuals who received calls or messages from a number submit a report through our review form. Reports include a caller safety rating (1–5 scale) and a written account of the interaction. All submissions are moderated before publication.

The safety rating shown on this page reflects the collective assessment of (03) 4833 1538 by real users. It measures perceived caller risk, not the quality of this page. A low rating indicates that reporters consider this number likely to be associated with scam or spam activity.
