I received a call offering a monthly saving of $45 on my account. The caller had an obvious foreign accent, which made me suspicious.
Phone rung at 11.41 am 4th September 2023. Came up as Potential Fraud. Immediate red flag and since reading reviews, glad I didn't answer. Have been receiving a lot of Potential Fraud calls from random VIC numbers this last week. They never leave an voice mail.
This caller pretended to be from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). However, I recognize this as a scam, so I advise others not to answer and simply block the number.
The caller had an Indian accent and began by claiming they could lower my telephone bill by 45%. I found this suspicious and simply hung up the phone. I believe this number is definitely a scam.
I received an automated message stating that there had been unauthorized transactions on my Visa card, which is completely false. The message prompted me to press buttons to continue, indicating a scam attempt. This is definitely SPAM!
The caller informed me that my phone service would be terminated in just two hours, which sounded very alarming.
