Despite my clear request to stop calling, the person insisted they were from the government and that the call was legitimate. I’m considering buying a sports whistle to effectively signal my frustration and make my position clear.

I have been receiving constant calls from numbers in the country Victoria area. I recommend setting your phone to not answer unknown or private numbers, as they go straight to my voice mail (which I don’t have a personal message for), and they NEVER leave a message. This has effectively solved my issue with these scam calls, as I'm tired of this nonsense!
This number called, but I didn't answer. If it had been a legitimate call, they would have left a message or sent an SMS. Did a reverse search, and it came up as Gainsville Furniture, which should not have my number, as I have had no dealings with them. Probably, as others here have said, this is a spoofed number.
