Thanks again Reverse AU - This # came up on my landline phone today. Saved me from another scan call.
I received a recorded message that claimed I had missed an important document from the immigration department. The message appeared to be specifically targeting the Chinese community.
The caller pretended to be a customer service center and prompted me to press various numbers. The first option was for Chinese language assistance, which I found odd since I'm not Chinese. I pressed 2 for English and then hung up because it became clear this was a scam. I advise others to be cautious.
The caller spoke in Chinese, but I pressed 1 to switch to English for better understanding.
Chinese accent recorded message saying they were the "immigration bureau" and "we have contacted you many times".
I received a call from an unknown number displayed as "Erica, Victoria." This just showed the phone number without any additional context. Based on my past experience, I believe this is likely a scam call.
Community reports are retained as historical safety signals within the Reverseau telecommunications safety dataset and may reflect different experiences over time.
