I received a call that I chose to ignore, as I often get automated calls from similar numbers. A female voice left a message saying I should contact them urgently and provided options to press 1 or 2 in Chinese.
No message. Presumed a scam.
I didn't answer the call, and there was no voicemail left, so I have no idea who this number belongs to.
Called me at 1425 Queensland time on Easter Saturday. Did not answer. Call display showed it was (allegedly) originating from Anabranch VIC.
Claimed to be from commonwealth bank.
Called me at 1:40 pm Brissy time on Good Friday. Number said it was from Mildura. No voicemail left.
Called on Good Friday and hung up right away.
Called at 1.22 pm Good Friday. twice. Nuisance calls probably different time zone overseas call centre.
Didn't know the caller so didn't answer but left no message anyway so probably just a scam.
Called at 1.20 pm Good Friday. As usual no message left. Assume another nuisance call like all the others.
The caller claimed there was a charge on my credit card and was checking if it was authorized by me. When I called back, I realized it wasn’t a bank but rather a company, raising my concerns about its legitimacy.
I received a recorded telephone message stating that my mobile number would be cut off, followed by instructions to select options in either English or Chinese. This seems suspicious.
Community reports are retained as historical safety signals within the Reverseau telecommunications safety dataset and may reflect different experiences over time.
