I received a recorded message stating, "Important Information regarding Epidemic Alert. Press 1 for English, press 2 for Chinese." This prompts suspicion as it could involve phishing or unwanted solicitation.
I got a recorded message claiming to provide emergency information about the pandemic. I was then prompted to press 1 or 2 for English or Chinese assistance, which raised my concerns that this could be a scam.
I received a call from someone claiming to be from my bank (they did not specify which bank) who reported a transaction of $1800 using my debit card. This raised suspicions since I don't have $1800 in my account, indicating it may be a scam.
This number called but did not leave a voicemail message. Since it is not a recognized number, it raises my suspicion.
I let this call go to voicemail. It was a recorded female voice that asked me to press 1 for English or 2 for Chinese. After checking online, I found that others have reported similar calls linked to different kinds of scams. I prefer not to answer calls from unknown numbers, so I always let them go to voicemail.
Missed call - no voicemail left.
A female caller with a recorded Indian accent said, "Your call is important to us, please hold while we connect your call." This was a scam call from a Melbourne (03) number that called me. I did not initiate the call. I have reported, deleted, and blocked the number.
Chinese scammer called themselves good hope from what I was able to understand.
