Got a call from someone claiming to be from Commonwealth Bank, but since I don’t bank with them, I figured it was a dodgy scam straight away.
I received a robocall that started with the message, "Hello. Epidermic emergency status. For Australian..." It was clearly another scam attempt.
The number showed up as from Ouyen, when it is not the Ouyen area code, but I thought it might be a friend form that region, so I called back to get a "Your call is important to us...", so I hung up.
I received a call with a recorded message claiming to be an "Academic Emergency Call" that prompted me to press 1 if I speak Chinese. I suspect this is a scam call attempting to gather personal information.
I missed the call from this number, so I called back and was greeted with a message saying: "You have reached Good Hope, your call is important to us. Please hold while we connect your call." I have decided to block this number.
Claimed to be an 'Australian National Emergency' call. Press 1 for English (etc., etc.). Obviously a scam.
I received a voice-to-text message stating that I have an urgent document notification. It instructed me to press one for English and two for Chinese. I have decided to block this number due to its suspicious nature.
I received an automated call that started with a mention of "hero" and a "special pandemic warning." The call hung up abruptly, and the speaker had noticeably poor English. I felt it was suspicious and decided to block the number.
The caller's message mentioned an "academic emergency" and provided options to press a number for assistance regarding Australian and Chinese matters. It was unclear what the actual purpose of the call was.
Nuisance call. I did not answer and they left voicemail. Voicemail in Asian English accent said press 2 for Chinese and then recorded voice message in Chinese language started so I deleted this voicemail.
I have been getting daily scam calls. Yesterday, I received a call from (03) 4002 1046 at 3:50 PM, and today, I received another call at around the same time from this number (03) 4002 5050. I have blocked both numbers.
This call was a nuisance. I didn’t answer, and they left a voicemail in an Asian English accent suggesting I press '2' for Chinese, after which a recorded message in Chinese started. I promptly deleted this voicemail.
I received an automatic voice message prompting me to press 1 for English or 2 for Chinese. I am really frustrated with receiving these types of calls repeatedly.
An automated voice call pretending to be an "immigration dealer" contacted me, which is concerning and likely represents a scam attempt.
I received a voicemail about unpaid bills and was given options to respond in either Chinese or broken English. I have since blocked the number.
Unknown caller Ouyen - block spoofed call.
Scammer with an Indian accent calling himself ‘Charles’ pretending to be from Telstra and saying “your IP connection is no longer private”. When I sarcastically said “oooh how scary” he had the nerve to say “stop, don’t waste my time” - what a loser. Told him to get a real job.
I picked up this call, but the caller did not say anything at first. After 12 seconds, I received a recorded message claiming to be from "Commonwealth Bank." The message informed me of an unknown transaction for $1,800 that I could approve or reject by pressing 1 or 2. However, I do not have any banking relationship with Commonwealth Bank.
Definitely a scam caller. Hangs up quickly after 3 rings.
