This seems like a random scam call. The location is over 425 kilometers from Melbourne's CBD, and the population is small—hardly likely that this area has many Chinese residents!
I also experienced the same situation; my phone identified the call as spam.
Scam call.
Had a call from this number.0340021043 It’s a scam.
This number has called me several times and has left messages asking for my identification. This is concerning and seems unusual.
I got a message claiming that my Vodafone contract needed urgent updating, warning that my phone would be shut down in two hours if I didn't respond. To potentially address this issue, it prompted me to press one for assistance in Chinese. This seems to be a scam attempt.
I answered the call without saying anything, and an automated voice informed me that my passport details had expired and that I needed to confirm my identity. This sounds like a potential scam.
I didn't answer this number, as I avoid unknown calls. I let it go to voicemail. When I listened to the message, it was a pre-recorded voice saying it was an epidemic emergency notice and prompted me to press 2.
Scam call. Just block the number.
This number should be investigated, as I suspect it is linked to a scammer. I believe the telecommunications company should take action against this and any numbers associated with it to prevent further scams.
I received the same call as well. It appears to be a scam related to immigration documents.
Scam call. Supposed to be Vodaphone accounts.
Scam call.
Started a voicemail with recorded message "press 1 for English" and "press 2 for Chinese" then started talking in Chinese. Clearly a scammer...
This caller rang me but I didn't answer. They left a message saying to press 2 for further instructions. I'm familiar with these tactics - I plan to block and delete this number immediately.
I received a spam call that featured an automated recorded message claiming to be from a health service. It seemed suspicious and untrustworthy.
The call originated from Victoria, but I ignored it, and they left a message that was entirely in Chinese, which didn't provide any clarity.
