This number just won't quit! When I tried to call them back, I got a message saying it's disconnected. Total scam number, so I’ve reported it to Optus fraud team!
I got a call from a withheld ID, and they were prying into my personal property. Optus checked it out and said it's linked to this number. Bit sus, if you ask me.
It’s showing up on my ex’s usage records (my phone account). All phone calls (no texts), and all lasting around one minute. The calls are made minutes or less apart. Really strange.
I’m confused about this number as it shows up on my boyfriend's phone records, indicating calls lasting 5 and 3 minutes. However, when I try to call back, it shows as disconnected. This is suspicious.
My phone was stolen and one if the calls made to was 02 97309996. It has been reported to police. I am a pensioner and can ill afford the expense it has cost me. Shame on you.
The number (02) 9730 9996 is listed by Optus as the caller ID for voicemail deposits. There is nothing suspicious about it.
It would seem to be Optus voicemail. The list of calls to this number are listed under the heading " voicemail".
I've made a call this morning to voicemail # so that I can cross check on next month's phone account.
Given that my hospital information has recently been hacked, I'm keeping some perspective here. More worried about the hack rather than phone calls that are likely voicemail and not charged money for.
I received a call but did not answer it. They left a voicemail claiming to be from PayPal, stating they would withdraw over $200 from my account. When I called the number back, an Indian woman answered and thanked me for calling PayPal. I informed her that she was not truly representing PayPal and requested that she stop calling this number, but she hung up immediately. This seems suspicious.
This number, (02) 9730 9996, called from India and requested too much personal information, making me uncomfortable about its intentions.
This number appeared on both my wife's phone bill and mine within the same month, which is concerning. They also left a voicemail message.
After switching my mobile provider from Telstra to AGL, I received my first bill. It indicated that I had called this number 103 times, which is completely untrue. My husband confirmed that it's labeled as my voicemail. The frequency of calls is highly exaggerated, and even though there are no charges, it's extremely frustrating. I am considering switching back to Telstra because of this issue.
It appears I may have inadvertently triggered too many message remarks on my service provider’s system, resulting in eight brief messages on my bill. However, I don’t use voicemail. I'm wondering if these messages are just going through the exchange system, each lasting only about 3 seconds.
Just like many others, my wife also has this number showing up on her phone. It's only started appearing this month without any charges, but it's frustrating and annoying to see it on our bills.
I noticed this phone number appeared on my bill from February 7 to March 6. The calls were made frequently from around 10 AM until after 11 PM. I don’t use voicemail, and I was completely unaware of these calls until I reviewed my bill. If this number is associated with Optus, they really need to address this issue promptly to avoid frustrating their customers further.
This number has frequently appeared on both my phone and my partner’s phone, showing up in our call logs and on our bills. It’s concerning since we do not recognize anyone associated with this number. We are cautious about answering potential scam calls, and I truly appreciate the service provided here for users to verify such numbers. Thank you!
My 92-year-old father has this number appearing 15-20 times on his monthly phone bill, each time for only 3 or 4 seconds. This recurring charge is very unusual and concerning.
I blocked this number, so it doesn’t ring on my phone anymore. However, it appears on my monthly bill every day through Southern Phone, which is affiliated with Optus. I recommend contacting Optus to report this issue.
My wife has this phone number listed on her bill as well. The first call lasted only 2 seconds, while the second one lasted 59 seconds. The number seemed weird because the format appeared mixed up. The number on the bill referenced (02) 9730 9996, whereas I had to interpret it differently (12682908(02) 9730 9996).
I received a voicemail call that appeared to be from Optus, but I wonder why carriers like Optus and Southern don't provide clearer information to their clients regarding the voicemail call back process.
I can confirm my previous statement regarding the situation. My phone provider is Southern Phones, and the issue seems to be related to my voicemail, so no need to worry.
My voice mail now says my messages are addressed to this number.
