Unsolicited call, treated as a likely scammer on 12 December 2024.
Total scam; now wanting to advise me that my electricity metre and gas metre needed to be renewed and he continued by reading out the metre numbers that were connected to my name, for that renewal. When I asked which property he was referring to, he told me he would look that up and to stick it up my arse....haha. Also 02 9288 8451 is connected with the same scam (they called 5 hours earlier).
People calling to offer you a better deal on your electricity account but they just waste your time and probably want to get your details.
I attempted to return the call to this number but was informed by my phone provider that it has been disconnected. I'm marking this as a spam call.
I received a similar call; when I tried to call back, I was told that the call could not be connected. This indicates that the number is fake.
Received call just now. No message left. Will block.
Spam.
Received a call from this number but no message was left. Blocked.
I attempted to return the call and was greeted with a recorded message stating, "this MOBILE number has been disconnected." It appeared to be a landline number instead, which makes me think it's best to block it as it may be part of a scam.
Community reports are retained as historical safety signals within the Reverseau telecommunications safety dataset and may reflect different experiences over time.
